12. Otago Boys' High School 1st XV - Captain: Charlie
1. How long have you been playing rugby, and what made you want to play? What do you love about the game?
I’ve been playing rugby since I was 4. Growing up in a sporty household, rugby was always going to be part of my life — and I’ve loved it ever since. I enjoy the challenge the game presents and the opportunity to play alongside my mates.
2. What position do you play, and what’s your most memorable rugby moment?
I play flanker. My most memorable rugby moment would have to be making my debut for the 1st XV — a proud and exciting milestone.
3. What are you enjoying about rugby at OBHS, and what challenges have you faced?
I really enjoy the rugby culture at OBHS. The support across all our teams is awesome to be a part of. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced was missing the entire 2024 season due to a wrist injury — that was tough both mentally and physically.
4. What motivates you?
My motivation comes from wanting to become the best player I can. My ultimate goal is to play professionally.

6. How does X-ZONE help you?
X-ZONE is great for helping my muscles before and after games. It supports both warm-ups and recovery, and has become an important part of my weekly routine.
