We are often asked why X-ZONE is the only company on earth to include a large selection of carefully chosen New Zealand 'power' plants in our topical muscle and joint products.
The story begins 150 million years ago on Gondwanaland - a super continent that included modern day Australia and Antarctica - to which New Zealand was once attached.
Approximately 85 million years ago, the continent of Zelandia (now New Zealand) broke away and started drifting off across, what we now call, the Pacific Ocean.
At this time, New Zealands' animal species predominantly consisted of birds (many flightless), insects (weta), a few reptiles (tuatara) and uniquely, no land-based mammals. In fact the only mammals were believed to be two small types of bat.
Meanwhile, back on the Gondwanaland, large herbivore predators (both dinosaurs and mammals) were busily consuming the local plant life. This led to the plants evolving 'defensive strategies' to survive. Such defensive strategies included the use of pesticides, such as tannins (to make the plants taste bitter) as well as caffeine and nicotine to act as deterrents.

In comparison, the early isolation of 'Zelandia' meant that there were no large herbivores feeding on our evolving plant life. This led to the formation of very unique flora - instead of having to develop defensive phytochemicals, they were able to 'concentrate' all their energy to make highly potent and unique phytochemicals, unlike anywhere else on earth!
