Dosage:

Adults; Start off with ¼ of a teaspoon twice a day with food. After the first week increase to 3x per day. After second week, up the dose to between ½ and 1 teaspoon or increase until you feel the desired effects.

Children; Start off with 1/8 teaspoon twice a day with food. After the first week increase to 3x per day. After second week up the dose to ¼ teaspoon or increase until effects are felt.

Teaspoon Guideline 1/4 teaspoon is about 2cm of paste, 1/2 teaspoon is about 4cm and 1 full teaspoon is about 8cm of paste. 

Rarely, when adding Turmeric into your diet for the first time, you may experience a slight upset stomach. If experienced, lower your dosage for a while before slowly increasing again. Your gut flora will soon start to benefit and be thankful.

Are there any side effects?
As Turmeric Golden Paste is a whole food it is well tolerated by most people and animals.  Adverse reactions are rare but could include stomach upsets like nausea or diarrhea. Always start on small amounts with food and slowly increase. If you do have any unwanted side effects, stop taking and consult your health care practitioner.

Is there any drug interactions?
Turmeric has several medicinal qualities, and may amplify the effects of other drugs, including blood thinners, diabetes, stomach anti-acids and anti-inflammatory medications. If you are taking any prescription drugs check with your health care practitioner first. Please note that due to Turmeric's anti blood clotting actions, it is best to stop 48 hours before a surgery.

How much paste should I take?
All instructions are on the packaging. Please refer to our Dosages for People and Pets pages.  We recommended starting on small amounts and slowly increasing until desired results are found. As Turmeric doesn't stay in the system for long it is better to take frequently like 2 - 3 times a day (with food) rather than in one dose.
